The Lowry Hill Gallery, a contemporary art space founded by former Groveland Gallery director Andrea Bubula, opened in March 2026 at 1009 W. Franklin Ave. with shows by Minnesota and regional artists.
The gallery debuted its first exhibitions on Saturday, March 7, running through April 11, in a 3,400-square-foot storefront with 15-foot ceilings near the recently reopened stretch of Hennepin Avenue. Bubula, who previously directed the Groveland Gallery, launched the space with gallery manager Muriel Lang and specializes in representational painting, drawing and fine-art prints.
The gallery represents a roster of established artists and the estate of the late Minnesota painter Mike Lynch, and it has continued rotating shows since opening, including a spring exhibition of work by Kirsten Tradowsky. The venue offers free street parking and wheelchair access and sits within walking distance of the Walker Art Center and the Kenwood neighborhood.
For a neighborhood long defined by the Walker, the gallery adds a smaller, regional counterpoint with frequently changing exhibitions. Neighbors should check the gallery's listings for current shows and hours, since the program turns over often.
