East Isles Blotter: Week of March 9 — A Mix of Reports, Including Assaults

Minneapolis Police logged seven incidents in East Isles during the week of March 9, according to the city's open crime data: three vehicle-related reports, one other theft, one residential burglary and two assaults, one of them a homicide. Locations are block-level, as published by the city. These are reports; anyone arrested or charged is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.

The most serious report was a homicide on the 2300 block of Hennepin Avenue on March 14. In keeping with our standards, we report it only at the block level and do not name anyone involved while the investigation continues. The week also included a third-degree domestic assault on the 1500 block of Lagoon Avenue on March 9; we do not identify parties in domestic-violence reports. Vehicle crime made up the largest share of the tally. The reports: a theft from a vehicle on the 2800 block of Knox Avenue South (March 13); a stolen vehicle on the 1500 block of 28th Street West (March 13); and a theft from a vehicle on the 1500 block of Lagoon Avenue (March 15). The Lagoon Avenue block drew two of the week's reports, so drivers parking there should take valuables and registration inside.

Rounding out the week: an other-theft report on the 1400 block of West Lake Street (March 11) and a burglary of a dwelling on the 2400 block of Fremont Avenue South (March 15).
