Minneapolis recorded 2,086 stolen vehicles through May 8, roughly 400 ahead of the 2025 pace and a reversal of the roughly 37% decline of the prior two years, CBS Minnesota reported, with the department citing a new wave of key-programming devices and no investigators assigned solely to auto theft.
