Package Taken From an Apartment Lobby on Colfax in the Wedge

A delivery left in a shared apartment lobby on the 2000 block of Colfax Avenue South in the Wedge disappeared within an hour of being dropped off, a resident reported. The 5th Precinct has not announced an arrest.

Lobby thefts follow the deliveries

In a renter-heavy neighborhood like the Wedge, parcels often sit in an unsecured entry until someone is home. Reports of lobby and porch theft climb whenever delivery volume does.

Per our standing policy, we place this only on the block and identify no resident or unconvicted person.

Building managers can add a locked package room or a camera over the entry; residents can require a signature or route parcels to a pickup locker. Footage from the 2000 block of Colfax Avenue South can be shared via 311 or the 5th Precinct.
