Porch theft tends to happen in daylight, often within minutes of a delivery, when a carrier's route is easy to follow down a block.
Lowry Hill News publishes the block only and identifies no one who has not been convicted.
Camera clips are most useful when they show a clear face, clothing or a vehicle and carry an accurate time stamp. The homeowner has filed through the 5th Precinct; others with video from the 1600 block of Mount Curve Avenue can add theirs via 311.
One neighbor's clip is an anecdote; five clips of the same person is a case.
