Someone trying a garage side door on the 2700 block of Humboldt Avenue South was apparently scared off.

A motion-sensor light appears to have scared off someone trying a side door of a garage on the 2700 block of Humboldt Avenue South in East Isles, a resident reported. Nothing was taken, and no arrest has been announced.
Attempted entries that end at a lit doorway are a quiet success story — and a reminder that simple deterrents work. The resident credited an automatic light triggered by the motion.
Per policy, the location is given to the block only and no unconvicted person is named.
A motion light and a locked side door turn an easy attempt into a risk most would-be thieves skip. Anyone who saw activity on the 2700 block of Humboldt Avenue South can contact the 5th Precinct or 311.
