A handgun was among the items reported stolen from a vehicle broken into on the 2300 block of Bryant Avenue South in the Wedge, according to a report to the 5th Precinct. No arrest has been announced.
Most vehicle break-ins net low-value items, but a stolen firearm puts a weapon into circulation. Minneapolis police have repeatedly warned that a growing share of guns stolen in the city are taken from parked cars.

Officers urge people not to leave firearms in vehicles at all, and to report a stolen gun with its serial number so it can be traced. Information on the 2300 block of Bryant Avenue South can go to the 5th Precinct or 311.
