Vehicle thefts and break-ins drove the late-May and early-June crime reports across Lowry Hill and East Isles.

Recent Minneapolis Police Department reports in the lakes neighborhoods were dominated by vehicle crime — auto thefts, thefts of car parts and thefts from vehicles — with a handful of home burglaries, bike thefts and assaults mixed in. The incidents below come from the city's Police Incidents 2026 open dataset. Per policy, we give the block only and do not name anyone.
In Lowry Hill, an automobile theft was reported June 1 on the 1100 block of Summit Avenue, where a theft of motor vehicle parts had also been reported May 26. An automobile theft was reported May 29 on the 700 block of Vineland Place, and a robbery of a person was reported the same day on the 1900 block of Humboldt Avenue S. The 1800 block of Girard Avenue S. saw repeated activity: a dwelling burglary and a bike theft on May 14, thefts of vehicle parts on May 18 and May 24, and a theft from a vehicle on May 12. A dwelling burglary was reported May 6 on the 1900 block of Mount Curve Avenue, and an assault with a dangerous weapon was reported May 7 on the 600 block of Kenwood Parkway.
In East Isles, a bike theft was reported June 2 on the 2400 block of Humboldt Avenue S., and a theft of motor vehicle parts the same day on the 1500 block of Lagoon Avenue. Recent reports there also included an automobile theft May 28 on the 2500 block of Girard Avenue S., a dwelling burglary May 21 on the 2700 block of Irving Avenue S., and a business burglary May 10 on the 2600 block of Hennepin Avenue.
The pattern points residents toward a few concrete steps: lock vehicles, leave nothing visible inside, and secure garages and bikes. Reports can be filed through 311 or directly with the 5th Precinct, and camera clips frequently help investigators. Consistent reporting is part of what keeps the data — and the response — accurate.
