Thefts from parked vehicles dominated the property-crime reports logged in and around Lowry Hill East this spring, according to Minneapolis Police Department incident data.

Theft from vehicles and stolen auto parts were the most common reports. In Lowry Hill, the 1800 block of Girard Avenue South drew repeated reports — a burglary, a bike theft and a vehicle break-in on May 14, plus part thefts on May 12, 18 and 24. Auto-part thefts were also logged on the 1100 block of Summit Avenue on May 26 and an automobile theft there June 1, and a part theft on the 800 block of Mount Curve Avenue on May 22. A dwelling burglary was reported on the 1900 block of Mount Curve Avenue on May 6.
In East Isles, the 2700 block of Irving Avenue South recurred again: vehicle break-ins on May 13, 20 and 27 and a dwelling burglary on May 21. The 1500 block of Lagoon Avenue saw a string of thefts and bike thefts through May into early June. Automobile thefts were reported on the 2500 block of Girard Avenue South on May 28 and at James and Lagoon avenues on May 27.
Three violent incidents stand out. An assault with a dangerous weapon was reported on the 600 block of Kenwood Parkway in Lowry Hill on May 7; a robbery of a person on the 1900 block of Humboldt Avenue South on May 29; and a significant-bodily-harm assault on the 1500 block of Lagoon Avenue on May 24.
Minneapolis police ask residents to report through 311 (612-673-3000) and to share camera footage, which often advances vehicle cases. Block clubs continue to urge the basics: lights, locked doors and nothing left visible in a parked car.
