Minneapolis Park Police Officers Receive Honors for Bravery and Service
Several Minneapolis Park Police officers received honors for bravery and service from the Minneapolis Police Department Awards Committee in 2025.
Officer Daniel McShane earned the Medal of Valor for responding to a dangerous assault at Mueller Park where he engaged in a physical struggle with a suspect who attempted to disarm him, resulting in a firearm discharge at close range
Sergeant Keith Rowland and Officer Morris Dennis received the Excellence in Tactics and De-Escalation Award for their coordinated response to that same incident, helping safely control a highly volatile situation
Officer Morris Dennis was awarded a Medal of Valor for entering the scene of a mass shooting at Annunciation Church, assisting with the evacuation of a critically injured child and providing protection to displaced children and staff
Officer Nathaniel Farmer received a Medal of Commendation for providing life-saving care and support to an injured child
