Work to resurface Lake Harriet Parkway and improve the William Berry Parkway intersection will occur in phases starting in 2026.

Upgrades to non-accessible pedestrian ramps around Lake Harriet are scheduled for summer 2026, while resurfacing of the north segment and improvements to the William Berry Parkway intersection will begin after the Twin Cities Marathon in fall 2026. The remaining sections of Lake Harriet Parkway will be resurfaced in 2027.
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board proposes replacing the atypical intersection with a standard T-intersection featuring raised crosswalks and clear sight lines to preserve mature trees, improve trail safety and reduce driver confusion. Feedback on the layout is available through a public survey until April 23.
